CNN is seeking a News Desk Producer to work at the nerve center of the Washington newsroom. The ideal candidate is someone who embraces the challenge of multi-tasking in a fast-paced news environment. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing live signals for DC events and other incoming feeds while providing timely updates to the shows and digital managers and maintaining communications with them. In your role, you will help coordinate pool coverage of events for the network. You will work closely with field operations managers to launch crews to cover news stories in the DC area and maintain contact with photojournalists and producers in the field in order to relay editorial information to the newsroom and the network as stories develop. You will be responsible for ensuring that visual elements and related editorial information are quickly shared with the network including fresh video shot in the field by CNN photojournalists and social media video related to developing stories. You will work with DC reporting teams to cut newsworthy video elements for digital platforms. Another responsibility of your job will be to help the newsgathering operation by making calls to DC area officials when necessary, including police and fire departments. This role demands sharp editorial judgment, rapid decision‑making, and the ability to pivot instantly as priorities shift in a high‑pressure, high‑volume environment. Hiring Salary Range: $51,170.00 - $95,030.00 per year In compliance with local law, we are disclosing compensation, or a range thereof, for roles where legally required.
